Excellence at its best! - We were attending a wedding at the nearby Larchfield Estate and this accommodation had been recommended. This was our first trip to Northern Ireland so we decided to stay our 5 nights here and we were certainly not disappointed. This really is a very special place. From the moment you arrive, hosts Susan and Willie make you feel at home and relaxed. The accommodation is beautiful, welcoming, comfortable and very well appointed throughout. The accommodation is in a separate house adjacent to the owners house, it has two bedrooms, a very comfortable lounge and well equipped kitchen. On arrival there was homemade cakes, scones and biscuits. Also there is the facility to make drinks at your leisure. The bedrooms are very nice, light and airy, very comfortable beds and high quality linen. Very nice bathroom with excellent shower and lovely toiletries. The Hamper breakfast is truly amazing. We certainly did not leave the house hungry! It is in a beautiful location with stunning scenery. It offers very good accessibility to all major routes. Susan and Willie are delightful hosts, very helpful in recommending restaurants as well as places to visit and they genuinely care about their guests. Warm hearted, passionate hosts - Bay Tree is the genuine article! The property has that unique old world historic feel neatly fused with modern essentials. Beautiful countryside surroundings yet close enough to the action and dining options across the Belfast metro area. Amazing hamper breakfast, and most importantly gracious genuine hosts that go the extra mile to help with accommodations and local insider knowledge for guests. What a dynamic team with their culinary skills to estate restoration and decor... hope to be back one day.

Fabulous hosts, fantastic location, faultless stay! - What a delight to have stayed in this idyllic location with views of the Mournes. The welcome from Susan and Willie was second to none as we were treated to their exceptional hospitality on arrival with coffee and home baked cake. The cottage and surrounding area are stunning and very convenient for exploration of the nearby village of Hillsborough, where a visit to the castle and its magnificent gardens are a must. The cottage itself is so comfortable and well-appointed with all the essentials you require provided. The beds and bedding are luxurious and all the bedding is of an excellent quality - lovely to crawl into after a busy day! This place is really a home from home and all credit must go to the fantastic hosts for whom nothing is too much trouble! Thank you for such a wonderful, memorable stay. Can't wait to come back! I nearly forgot to mention the hamper breakfast which is worthy of any 5 star hotel. Actually I think it is better. You are wonderful Susan! Thank you both.

“This is my second time staying at the Bay Tree Cottage. It is by far the nicest accommodation I’ve ever stayed in. As many others have said, I could not recommend it more highly.
Here are a few of the highlights: immaculately clean, thoughtful interior design, an outdoor seating area with wonderful views (we particularly enjoyed watching the cows graze in the field across the road), extremely hospitable hosts, cozy bedding, a full suite of appliances (dishwasher, washing machine, teapot, kettle, microwave, fridge etc.) and, of course, Susan’s homemade lemon drizzle cake.
There are plenty of things to do in the surrounding area between Hillsborough Castle & Gardens, the Giant’s Causeway, Belfast etc. It’s a very convenient location, with numerous supermarkets and restaurants just a short drive away.
Bay Tree Cottage is a true gem. When I visit Northern Ireland again, I will refuse to stay anywhere else.”

“We cannot recommend Bay Tree Cottage highly enough. It is by far the best holiday accommodation that we have ever stayed in! Andrew and I booked to stay here, along with my parents, in the lead up to our wedding and we were so glad that we did!
The cottage is absolutely beautiful and spotlessly clean. It's spacious and the beds are extremely comfortable. The view from the cottage is gorgeous and the gardens have been beautifully maintained.
From the moment that we arrived at Bay Tree Cottage, we were made to feel welcome by Susan and Willie. They went above and beyond to help us prepare for our wedding and were incredibly kind and thoughtful. On the morning of our wedding, Susan baked us some delicious heart shaped biscuits and Willie attached a beautiful flower wreath to the door of the cottage.
Andrew and I will definitely return to Bay Tree Cottage and we have already recommended it to all of our friends and family.”

“The most amazing, top-class hospitality, with loads of little perks that only come from hosts that really care. A fire on when we arrived as it was rainy and blustery, welcome muffins and biscuits and all you need to make yourself cosy in a home away from home. Then on my birthday a beautiful tray of homemade cupcakes that were divine and made me feel really special. The house itself is very spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. We will return and highly recommend to anyone else looking for a slice of luxury near Belfast.”

“WOW! Bay Tree cottage is the most beautiful, stunning place, from the moment my husband and I arrived, we were warmly greeted by Willie and shown around. So gorgeous in every way, super stylish simple country decor, fabulous bedrooms with the comfiest beds and super soft bed linen, and beautiful bathrooms. The whole place was spotless. Susan is such a lovely warm welcoming host, her baking skills superb, as we had the chance to sample her yummy cake and biscuits.
The cottage is also very well-positioned for exploring the local sights of Hillsborough and the area.
It was a pleasure to stay in such a beautiful place, and indeed a rare find.
